Is it the first day of spring?

Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Yes, today, 3/20/2009 is the first day of Spring.

In the Northern Hemisphere spring actually arrives at exactly 7:44 AM. It's also called the Vernal Equinox.

Welcome Spring!

Yes, spring begins on the Vernal Equinox, which is usually March 20th.

According to the Wikipedia: "According to the astronomical definition, spring begins on the Vernal Equinox (usually March 20 in the Northern Hemisphere, and September 22 in the Southern Hemisphere), and lasts until the summer solstice (usually June 21 in the Northern Hemisphere and December 21 in the Southern Hemisphere). In 2009, Spring fell on March 20th in the Northern Hemisphere."
