about How to Read Body Language
Is it really bad body language to stand with your arms crossed? If so how should I stand?

Hi,
body language is a very interesting thing. Most people will immediately read your body language first before your words. If you are stating one thing but your body says another, people are much more likely to respond to your body language rather than your words.
When you stand with your arms across your body, you are sending off a signal that states "stay away, I am closed off to you." Many people will respond to that image by getting defensive or closing themselves off to you as well. Some people may even feel like you are being deceptive. When you cross your arms you are physically closing yourself off and it can look as if you are trying to keep a secret close to you.
Standing in a relaxed, open pose palms open can make you look approachable and calm. You are much more likely to gain someone's confidence by standing with your arms relaxed at your side or casually on your hips.
