Is it possible/feasible to conduct ebay style 'sniping' on questions? Wait 'til all have answered then strike.

Couldn't I snipe a question that does not have a best picked answer and then just collate the data from all the best answers into my final answer and add just a few more helpful facts all based on the answers already provided?

Then all I need to do is add a dash of humor and some witty or snarky remark and wait until it gets voted as best. This is assuming that questions that have gone without a best picked answer will most likely end up in the voting pile, so all I have to do at that point is cater to the voters.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

When I vote on best answers I take speed of answering into account so I favor the earlier answers over the later ones. If there are two answers that are pretty close and the later one doesn't add a whole lot I vote for the earlier answer every time.

It is the same with ebay. THe highest bidder wins no matter when the place the bid.

Yes, you could, since you so effortlessly mapped it out right there. BUT, I don't think it would be acceptable for the honest spirit of the Mahalo community, so I suggest people refrain from doing this kind of thing.

I think probably not yet.

well, I wasn't planning on it or anything :) I was just wondering if there were any safeguards already built into the system that could prevent such behavior.
