Is it possible to use the different ports of an NAS external hard drive (which has USB and ethernet) simultaneously?
I have an XBOX 360 and a HB954WA LG Bluray Home Theatre system. The LG has ethernet for broadband access only and a USB port for attaching an external hard drive (for DIVX movies etc.). I believe the best (I like Apple stuff and have some Macs) way of hooking both up to internet would be to use an Airport extreme.
I have a plan of attaching an external USB drive to the LG home theatre to play my movies. If I plugged the drive (which I have yet to purchase) via USB into the LG system and also attached it via ethernet to the airport extreme, would I be able to transfer files to the drive over the ethernet and then use the LG theatre system to view the files without the need to unplug?
Or are these NAS drives meant for the USB and ethernet to be used separately?

I think your going to have trouble. If you use the airport extreme you need to have the airport software instaledl to see the USB hard drive (HD). the Lg seams to be a wireless speakers system with a blue-ray player at it's center. if you can connect a PC or Mac with the HDMI connector, you will then be able to use you USB HD with your airport on your network and though the computer access your LG. You will only be able to use USB or Ethernet connection on the HD at one time not both. Meaning if you will have to disconnect one to use the other. You can also connect you computer to the TV and just use the speakers on the LG for sound that would be best because there is no guarantee that the LG will play all your files.
