Is it possible to hack a "digital to analog converter" to receive HD FM radio?

I'm referring to the things for TVs,
ie: http://www.energys tar.gov/index.cfm?fuseaction=find_a_product.showProductGroup&pgw_code=DTA

No. HD Radio uses different modulation (COFDM, IBOC) and a different audio CODEC (HDC) than digital TV.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

On top of that - I thought HD radio uses a proprietary encoding scheme (perhaps something you already listed above) by iBiquity. So I don't think you can just hack together something that will work. I haven't read it, but this looked interesting:
