Is it possible to get an itchy throat and nose from smoking marajuana. And if so should you stop immediately after or does it mean something

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Sure, you can get an itchy, sore throat or runny nose from smoking pot. The smoke irritates the membranes just like cigarette smoke does (and some people are allergic to marijuana). The irritation will go away after you stop smoking, but if a person smokes habitually then it can produce smoker's hack, chronic bronchitis and emphysema over the long term, just like cigarettes. Studies have indicated that long-term pot smoking leads to increased cancer risk in the head, and that long-term pot smokers are more likely to develop emphysema because they tend to hold the smoke in their lungs longer than cigarette smokers.
