Is it possible to find a job on Twitter?

Has anyone out there tried this yet? Any success stories or tips on how to do it?
Tip for best answer: M$2.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

If used properly, Twitter could be a great tool to help you finding a job. While researching this question, I found a great article on Mashable talking about this very thing. Here are some of the highlights/key points of that article:

1. Use your twitter profile with a job-seeker mindset. Use a professional avatar. Post the type of job you're looking for in your bio and consider even posting a link to your online CV or resume in your bio. This is a great resource for creating a CV: https://www.visualcv.com/resume_resources/resume_templates?_oskwdid=5356672

2. There are many successful job recruiters who use Twitter. Check them out and follow those that are relevant to your career.

3. Use twitter job search tools and resources like @Microjobs that brings job seekers and recruiters together.

4. Follow the hashtag #Tweetmyjobs and visit the website at http://tweetmyjobs.com/. This is a very simple (and free) tool for job seekers. You can subscribe to desired job channels and even have new openings automatically sent to your mobile phone. Even better? You can specify which cities you want notifications from.

5. Utilize job search accounts by following the twitter accounts dedicated to providing job listings by field, company, region, and more. You can get a very comprehensive list of these and read the entire article here:

http://mashable.com/2009/03/13/twitter-jobs/

One final note:
To find additional Twitter job resources, use the Twitter search function and type in keywords important in your job search. For example, “job openings,” “looking for a job,” or “healthcare career.” Additionally, you can search out others in your desired career field on sites like Twellow, Just tweet it, and TwitterTroll.

Good luck in your search!

Resume writing is way to complex for a simple person, until nd unless you're not an expert, dont send out a ill-prepared resume to employers, if you need help, you can go to this site HelpVilla.com to get a professional resume done!

Yeah, if you look hard enough, have the right determination, and are an expert at search terminology and methodology. If you think you are talented enough, go for it! If you can forsee trouble, you should try to look for a "careers" tab at the bottom of the page or use Careerbuilder or Monster instead.

People often put our jobs that they are looking to fill to their twitter networks, this is most likely more popular for IT/software development jobs, but yes it is possible.

What do you think the most common keywords for twitter job listings are? What Twitter queries would most likely yield open positions?

Yes, I think it is more than possible to find a job on twitter. You must include your blogs, websites, interests etc. Since you are more than likely networking on twitter with like minded people, creating a conversation and possible job contacts are probable!

I have been on twitter for quite some time and to find the things that you desire, you have to follow twitters that are related to your needs.
