Is it possible to combine a wireless and an ethernet connection to get more speed?

I am on campus, so I'm only limited by the speed campus sets for me. Is it possible to use an ethernet cable and the wireless signal at the same time to double my internet speed?

If it is possible, what software/hardware would I need to make this work?

If it is not possible, what makes it impossible? (hardware or software)

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Hi, please see my video for the answer.
Basically, yes it is possible, but it will be difficult. I don't think you can do it in any consumer version of Windows, but you can do "Channel bonding" with Windows Server or Linux.
You will probably have to re-compile your kernel in linux to get this working.
Even so, you won't get double the speed. If they are artificially restringing your internet speed (IE: you have a 100mb wired network connection but only a 1mb connection to the internet) then it might work. However this will most certainly be a violation of the terms of service - if you are discovered you will likely find yourself with NO internet.

Yes,I didn't mention load balancing. Load Balancing won't really get you a faster connection, but if you have multiple apps transferring data they will use separate network connections.

Also don't forget about load balancing, which YES i know is something completely different.
But helps if you run multiple applications that both use a internet connection.

It can, for some I guess.. but definitely they won't work for more possible good result. After all, others may find it another opportunity for business. Anyway, these are two different connections when it comes to internet connection. Either you choose a local ethernet connection, or go for wireless. Make sure that your wireless signal has a good connection in order for you to get high-speed internet. And, make sure that your electronic equipment (computer) is virus-free for better and fast downloading.
