Is it okay to feed a kitten baby formula?
I have a kitten that isn't very old, the mother abandoned it.. can I give it human baby formula with an eye dropper?

A kitten bottle may work a bit better, especially if the kitten is still quite small. My friend bottle feeds and uses the KMR forumla from PetAg. If you purchase a baby kitten bottle set, make note that the nipples have no holes when new. You have to use a pin or needle to make the hole.
If the kitten has no teeth yet and if the eyes and ears are still closed, you may be bottle feeding for some time. Consider purchasing the formula in powder form and mixing a batch each day.
If the kitten has some teeth, you may be able to start the kitten on canned food mixed up with a bit of formula. Use Wellness canned chicken formula food. Stay away from any seafood, beef or lamb. Those proteins are too rich for a kitten.
If the kitten does have some little razor sharp teeth, but doesn't know how to eat out of a bowl just yet, take a bit of canned food and mash it between your fingers and place a bit in the cats mouth. The little ones can make quite a mess when beginning to eat, and sometimes even wear more than they ingest.
Kittens that are still on the bottle need to be feed and stimulated to pee and poop several times a day. You need to stimulate them with soft tissue before and after each feeding. Between 4-6 weeks they learn to eliminate on their own. At that point you can provide a small container with a bit of unscented clay litter.
