Is it okay for parents to go out after the kids have fallen asleep?
We have thought about going out for dinner after the kids are in bed.
We live in a very safe apartment building, and we have a neighbor we trust (with kids of her own) whom we were thinking of leaving a baby monitor and extra key with. The kids are 9, 8 and 6. Is this okay? The neighbor is right next to us, so we figured it would be like a babysitter sitting downstairs in a house. What do you think?

I want to say "no" because you never know what could happen. But I think my parents have before or at least one had left. I'm a heavy sleeper so I know I wasn't waking up to start a midnight fire.
