Is it now safe to buy a Seagate 1TB Barracuda internal hard drive?

It has been some time since Seagate has had their hard drive firmware issues. I have noticed that their drives are a bit cheaper than Western Digital drives. I have had bad experiences with all of the brands, so I thought I might try the Seagate, but I am not sure if the firmware issues have been resolved.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.
