Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Hashimoto's thyroiditis is an autoimmune disease where antibodies destroy the thyroid gland causing hypothyroidism. The cure is to take a thyroid hormone replacement such as levathyroxine, a synthetic form of thyroxine. I understand, the disease can go into remission for periods of up to a year, during which time you will not need to take medication. There is evidence for a genetic predisposition to the disease, which prevents a complete cure using currently available medical treatments.
