Is it legal to travel down a road in reverse, as long as your following the direction of the traffic?

It is illegal because the headlight are going to be in wrong direction, speed in reverse is not that fast, chances of accident and skidding are great and the handling is really bad in reverse.

No... This would be unsafe. There are also laws that you must have white headlights and red brake lights. People would not know if you are braking or changing lanes (unsafe lane changes).
