In 2010, a law was passed which made jailbreaking a product legal. Thus, you can jailbreak your Apple products such as iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. However, despite its legal status, jailbreaking is not recognized by Apple. Once you jailbreak your Apple product, the warranty on the product becomes void. This means, if your product stops working or starts malfunctioning then you can not avail free or complimentary service of product through Apple. Jailbreaking is a complicated and risky process and you run the risk of bricking your product. However, it also allows you to carry out certain tasks which are not possible if you do not jailbreak it. Therefore, although jailbreaking is now legal, you should carefully consider your options before carrying out this procedure.
