Is it healthy to take out all intake of fat?

There are several diets that suggest you take away all sources of fat from your daily intake of food. Do you think this is a healthy way to lose weight? Or do you think that it is very important to have at least a little bit of fat in your diet for some reason. Would taking all fat from your diet cause you any kind of illness or physical problems?
