No! I think passing an art subject doesn't require one to be really creative but if you already are and you are specializing in arts and humanities then it's an advantage already. I can attest to that because I am not that creative when it comes to art - simply not artistic. I don't like giving much attention to details. In fact, I must admit that I even find it difficult determining or interpreting an abstract painting, lol. But I was still able to pass it.
If you are not that creative when it comes to making art project then if it’s not an actual project then it’s okay. You can surely ask senior students or even your good classmates to help you. But, in art classes, everything may it ugly or beautiful is still an art. So your grade will depend on how your instructor rates your work. I always admire those teachers who are able to consider works which are obviously ugly at first glance. It also depends on how deep the instructor analyzes the work of his students. There are those who consider the psychological side of art so I would say, they’re great instructors. In order to get good grades then you should follow what your instructor has set. Constant exposure also to different kinds of art does the trick.

M$It also depends upon an institution and its teachers how they teach you. If you find the teachers cooperative and encouraging you can easily learn the art. It also depends that whether the institution is providing you lessons in an easy to understand way. If you are uncomfortable with the way teachers are providing lessons you may change the institution.
For getting more creative, you can practice meditation and indulge in some sort of sports activity as it will help you to concentrate in the art class and bring good grades. Be positive and see the result yourself. Good Luck!

M$Art teachers will not necessarily grade on how much they like the art project but they will grade on the effort that you put forth in the class. If you make a clay pot and it looks like you did your best then you will get a great grade. After all, art is self-expression, not copying what other people can do.
If you do the work you will not fail art class. Creativity is pretty much up to the individual. If you like jumbled piles of yarn, if you like cowboy boots, or if you like origami then take what you like and make it your own personal creativity. If you have children then you can draw their likeness. If you like the outdoors, work on trees and flowers. They don't need to be realistic to be artistic. They only have to be from the heart.
Check out the images at the bottom of this answer and you will see that art is truly in the mind of the artist as well as in the eye of the beholder.

M$If you don't understand the instructions ask for clarification. Don't leave until you understand what is expected of you. Few students do this. As a teacher and a student I can tell you, most teachers are only to happy to explain what you can do. They don't enjoy seeing students fail.
