Is it easy to text on the Android?

Are the keys easy to press when texting? Is the font large enough to easily press the correct keys?
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Hey there @renaldob!

It actually depends on the user and the phone involved. Most non-touch screen Android phones have QWERTY keypads which are easier to use. But if the user will move from non-touch phone to a touch screen phone, it will take time before he/she gets used to it. Since keypads are easier to hit than a touch screen, there are more chances of errors when a new user is typing.

Anyway, there is an Android app called Swype which allows user to just swipe to type words when composing a text message on a touch screen phone. App should be downloaded via Market and installed in your phone to start using Swype.

This is easy to use (I’m currently using this keyboard) especially for people who find it hard to type via touch screen phone. All you have to do is swipe through the letters you need for a certain word then it will appear on the screen. Most of the time, the word will come up right but there are times when you’re asked to choose from a set of words that came near depending on the letters you passed through.

Swype is currently available on these following languages: English, Korean, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Norwegian, Russian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and simplified Chinese.
