Is it easier to speak German than to write it?

German has some sound who are difficult for English speaker, however The German grammar is much more difficult than the English. This make it more difficult to write German correct than it is to actually speak it.

It depends on what you mean by 'easy'. Writing in German can be easier in the sense that you can look up words you don't know, take your time to gather your thoughts and say exactly what you mean, and correct your grammar mistakes, but the flip side of that is that any errors are more obvious, since they remain in front of the reader in black and white. Speaking German may be more difficult because you have to generate language on the fly, without the benefit of revision, but mistakes are less noticeable and more easily forgotten and forgiven.
The best way to learn to speak German quickly is to speak it a lot. The more practice you have, the easier it will be. Rosetta Stone will teach you to speak and write German, and you can adjust your preferences to focus more or less on the writing aspect, as you desire.

German, like English, is a Germanic language. This means that they both have roots in the same “ancestral” language spoken many years ago. This means that there are similarities between the two languages, though differences may lie in level of inflection in German as well as grammatical rules.

It all depends on the individual whether speaking or writing the language is easier. German has many verbal sounds that are foreign to the English speaker, and you may find it difficult to form them properly with your mouth, though you will have no problems writing it. Some people simply find it easier to learn the language through verbal instruction.

If you are interested in learning the German language, the Rosetta Stone software will be able to help you achieve that. Whether or not you can do this quickly really depends on your personal aptitude for the language. Some people do take longer to learn a language than others.
