Is it better to buy the full version or upgrade of Windows 7?
What information will help me decide if I should purchase the full version of Windows 7 or buy just the upgrade? What does the full version of Windows 7 offer that won't be available with the upgrade?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Both the full version of Windows 7 and the upgrade version of Windows 7 offer the exact same thing; it allows you to upgrade to Windows 7 from whatever current Windows version you are using. There is no difference between both software as you will get the same full features of Windows 7.
The difference is that if you purchase an upgrade version of Windows 7, you must already be using a legal, licensed copy of Windows (any version) on your computer. The upgrade version will simply install the necessary components that is needed for the upgrade (OS related software, hardware compatilibilty upgrades, etc).
The full version of Windows 7 will basically install Windows on any new computer without an existing Windows OS. This is especially users for indiviuals such as Mac users who want to install Windows on their machine as an alternative boot.
If you are already using Windows, it doesn’t really matter which version you choose to purchase. Though if you purchase the upgrade version, bear in mind that if you do need to re-install Windows for whatever reason, you will need your original Windows CD (the upgrade CD alone will not be enough).
