If you have a burning desire to shoot things with plastic pellets that can't be satiated by borrowing someone else's (your brother's perhaps? or he doesn't have one so he wants you to get one so he can play with it??), consider the fact that there are probably more girls out there (I'm assuming you're male) that find the iPod Touch way cooler than an Airsoft replica.

I think you have many more options of doing this with the Touch. You can watch movies, listen to music, play games, and do much more with all the applications.

Get an Airsoft gun, get with a group of ppl who play... keep yourself in great shape all the while socializing with others. Airsoft isn't only for military training.. it's to have fun. Become more agile, quicker.. those are things that pay off. It's like upgrading your body; becoming better. It works your cardio, endurance and somewhat a little bit of strength.
Girls who would rather a guy because of an iPod touch are pretty shallow.
AIRSOFT is worth it, immediatly AND in the long run.

Now, I would say that using a touch will not provide a TON of opportunites to interact face to face with other people. Some, but really its a personal device, meant for focused use. Additionally you will not improve your teamwork skills, physical abilities or abiity to solve problems with the touch.
On the plus side of the touch, you get something to help manage your music, communication, etc etc
On the airsoft side, if you get in the the right group of people, you will:
- improve your physical fitness
- improve your ability to get along with others as a team (improve social skills)
- may develop leadership qualities with your team
- learn how to solve problems and overcome obstacles and challenges
However - airsoft can be bad if you:
- only use it to shoot at things you should not in your back yard
- take it into public places and intimidate or threaten with it
Bottom line - all things have good and bad - its all in how you use them.
And finally - when it comes to Girls - finding something to "BE" to impress girls rarely works - and you wont want the girls it works on - better you should work on becoming a better person for your own sake - and the girls will come running - nothing attracts the opposite sex like a confident person who improves himself in every aspect he can.
