Is Houston a diverse city?

Are there different races and kinds of people there, or is it mostly homogenous?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I live near Houston Texas and I can certainly say that in my experience this is one of the most diverse cities I have ever had the pleasure of spending time in.

There is every ethnic and religious group available for stimulating conversation. There are great Mexican food restaurants and taquerias peppered through the city, as well as fine dining of every flavor. If you want to have a picnic, there are parks, and a great zoo to visit.

For those who are more cultural there is an art museum and the Houston Museum of Natural History to visit and learn about the past, present, and future of the world. It is fascinating to visit, with new exhibits, an IMAX theater and a butterfly exhibit that is a must see event.

As for the citizens of Houston, they are the friendliest people you'd ever want to meet. Walking down the street you will find I am telling the truth. Everyone smiles at you, even if they do not know who you are.

Houston has professional sports teams for every taste. There are the Houston Rockets for basketball, the Texans for football, the Dynamo if soccer is your sport, and they have the Houston Astros to wow you during the baseball season.

If the theater is more to your liking, there are many opportunities to visit the theater district and watch dramas, musicals, and every Christmas, The Nutcracker graces the halls of our fine city. I have personally seen "Cats"and "Oklahoma" on the live screen and I can thoroughly say I enjoyed them both very much.

In a nutshell, I can honestly say that Houston is a very diverse city. There are events and sights for every taste, regardless of the cultural boundaries or eclectic desires of any visitor to the city.
