I would and I have hired a driver when I needed one. I am not too good at driving, so a lot of times I hire a car. This past Summer, I had an emergency and I needed to be somewhere immediately, so I called a taxi, I had to pay $63.00 plus a tip for a 30 minute ride - that is more than $126.00 per hour.

To hire a driver or a limousine, (the places I checked) cost $40.00 and up per hour - a ride with a hired driver/chauffeur will give you 3 hours or more of (almost stress free) ride time. A hired driver/car cost a lot less than a taxi and they smell better.

Drivers are useful to take children to school, take them home from school, and to various activities while the parents are working. Having a driver can also mean you can share a car. He can drive you to one place and then come back to drive other family members to other place. If you travel around the city alot as part of your job, especially if the city's traffic is very hectic, it will save your energy a lot. My friend's mother is not a very wealthy woman, but she has to use drivers. She's a sucesful insurance agent and she has to go around town to meet clients. She'd exhaust herself just from driving around and not getting a work done. By hiring a driver, she can conserve her energy to work on her job.
