Is Gevalia coffee worth the money?

I like Gevalia coffee but at $6.45 for a 1/2 pound of their Signature Blend Ground Regular it is pricey and in my opinion not worth the price when I would be satisfied with my usual cup of Maxwell House that I get at the grocery store for $6.99 / 34.5oz.
One might be inclined to sign up for the Gevalia Coffee Club in order top regulate the cost a bit.
There are several reports of some sort of Gevalia Coffee Scam, I am not familiar with it but it seems a lot of folks are really upset.
RipOffReport as just one of many examples.

M$I love coffee! If I don't have my coffee in the morning, I'm just not the same the rest of the day.
I decided to try Gevalia because of it's different flavors and styles of coffee. I was very excited because I do love flavored coffees. The particular flavors I tried I was not happy with. They tasted funny. Upon ordering, I was also to receive a free gift, a very nice looking black coffee pot, which in their catalog is listed as retailing for $99. Well, check this out. I get the coffee pot home (I think I was more excited abotu the coffee pot than the coffee) and it takes forever to brew a pot of coffee. No joke, it would take a half hour to brew a full pot. Then, after a couple of days, it stopped brewing altogether, instead steaming all the water away instead of actually brewing it into coffee.
So, in my opinion, no it's not worth it, but that's just me. The best coffee I have ever had I got in a major grocery store. It comes in single-pot pouches and it's called Red-Eye coffee. It is by far the strongest, but also the smoothest, coffee I've ever tasted. Really good coffee and not bitter at all!

M$Like any 'FREE' offer that you see: READ THE FINE PRINT and be informed of what the 'deal' entails. Nothing is free….You pay a premium for the coffee, but for me, it is worth every dollar per pound that they charge!
Personal experience with Gevalia.
