IS Freezewire better then Limewire?

I just recently found out about Freezewire and I'm wondering how it compares to Limewire. Is it safer then Limewire as far as viruses go? Anyone tried both?

Thanks!

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I couldn't find any freezewire but I did find a Frostwire and it like Limewire is another Peer to Peer network and like limewire it is pulling stuff of other folks computers so you still have the potential of any type of malware as well as the possibility that what you are downloading is copyrighted and therefore illegal to download or offer for download unless you own the rights to the material or have permission form the holder of the copyright. the only upside is that Frostwire is open source which means the program is available for no charge.

You've got to be kidding.

Safe?!?

Sure downloading random binaries from people all over the world and having a buggy applicaiton share your content on the fly that could turn your firewall PC side or router side into swiss chess... that's a good idea.

Oh... and if the virus's don't get you the RIAA might come after you. What was it that lady in the states just got fined last year for sharing like 10 songs... like 500,000 dollars.

Get a Microsoft Zune Pass. Its $15 bucks a month you download unlmited music content that's DRMed. Then you can choose 10 of those song per month to keep and 9 times out of 10 there DRM free.
Its easy
Its safe
Its Cheap
Cost of not getting hacked priceless.

Downloading isn't illegal everywhere. It depends what country or even region you are in! Otherwise, your right about P2P, but there are other, safer alternatives for downloading free music.

If you use limewire to download Music I reccomend to you to free websites which allow you to look for any song and listen to it before having to download it unlike Limewire. Its not only faster then Limewire or any other program but its free to so check them out.
