Is ebay still allowing the sale of live dogs and cats to the fur trade on it's Chinese sister site?
A few years ago, ebay was allowing vendors to sell live dogs and cats on it's Chinese sister site. It was a known fact that most of these animals were NOT being purchased by people who wanted them as pets, and many of the top sellers of animals were raising them in horrendous conditions. Ebay's rationale was that the views on animals were different in China, and they were honoring that culture's ethics.
Ebay only allowed the sale of live animals on it's Chinese site, thankfully...but I never bought into their idea that even that should be allowed. At the time news of this first broke, there was a lot of talk about it from animal rights activists and citizens of ebay; so many people were disgusted, and a lot of complaints were made to the company.
Do you know if ebay has stopped allowing the sale of live animals on it's Chinese site? And if so, when did it happen?
