Is Diddy buying a $360,000 car for his son financially equal to most people buying their kid a Toyota?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Nope, it's not equal at all. Parents may spend 5-10% of their net worth or more getting their kid a new Toyota. This car is an insignificant fraction of Sean Combs' wealth. This car is much less of a big deal to Sean financially than a Toyota to a normal parent.

In our day and age, craftsmanship has almost died. Maybach is one of the few companies who still takes the time to do it right. Even the AMG Mercedes cars have lost their custom touch. Also, Maybach isn't profitable from what I understand so I'm happy that they made the sale. I just wish Sean had waited until his son gets older.

It is ridiculous. There is no need for that type of money to be spent on a 16 year old's first car. There is so much good he could be doing with that much money. What did that teach the child? There should be some reason used, and I don't see it being used here.

I'm a firm believer that just because you can, doesn't mean you should. I hate seeing wasteful actions and buying a car that cost more than a quarter of a million dollars is wasteful.

I detest celebrities that spend money on lavish and unnecessary objects, just to show off their status. I detest anyone for that matter that feels $360,000 should be spent on something like this.

He could have bought a really nice Toyota. Or any other reasonable car...and done something worth while with that money, like invest in his son's future, or show him the wealth of helping others with it.

It is not financially equal. It's just plain stupid.
