According to OMG!Yahoo, Cynthia Scurtis Rodriguez "is a Greek Orthodox lady, brought up in a Greek Orthodox household." Cynthia herself said "I come from a Greek-American family and grew up Orthodox."
Cynthia’s grandfather is Reverend Demosthenes Mekras. He founded the first Greek orthodox church in Florida and according to the NY Daily News is "Flordia's most influential Greek Orthodox priest."
