The pros and cons of coffee are almost neck and neck. It seems that no one can decide whether it is good for us, or bad. I can't tell you definitively whether coffee will be our saving grace or cripple us, but I can give you some facts. Here are a list of pros and cons concerning the consumption of coffee, which is also one of my favorite beverages.
The Good-
Reduced chance of Parkinson's Disease.
Reduced risk of developing Alzheimer's later in life.
Benefits for people with Asthma.
Coffee contains a great deal of antioxidants.
Improved mental alertness and productivity
The Bad-
Increased anxiety
Increased LDL (bad cholesterol) levels.
Heartburn
Increased chance of heart disease (still being debated).
Restlessness
Dehydration, since caffeine is a diuretic.
These are only some of the benefits and down sides to drinking coffee, but definitely gives you something to ponder before downing your morning cup of Joe. For more information check out this link:
