Absolutely! Chicago is one of the greatest art and culture centers in the United States. It is also one of the most beautiful American cities to due to the incredible architecture. To get a real sense of the city, I highly recommend taking one of the boats tours that they give on the river. They are centered on the architecture, but it really is a great way for anyone to get a gorgeous view of the Windy City.

Navy Pier is great for those with families: there are vendors, carnival rides in the summer and an IMAX theater. There is a garden area with jumping water fountains for a quieter trip. It also contains Chicago's Shakespeare theater, which sports a classic raked stage. The companies performing there are amazingly talented.

Chicago has several theaters and most major shows come through the city (some even begin in Chicago before heading to New York, such as The Producers, Spamalot and The Addams Family). Check Broadway In Chicago for details on current shows.

Beautiful old Wrigley Field is a must for baseball fans and sports history enthusiasts, and Soldier Field is also an impressive site. Near to the water front are some of the best museums you will ever visit. For the history buff in your family, hit the Field Museum. For the science lover, try the Museum of Science and Industry. For the marine enthusiast, the Shedd Aquarium is for you. All of these are great places to take children as well.

If shopping is what you want on a vacation, Michigan Avenue has all your retail needs. For a lovely day outside, head to Millennium Park: there are shallow fountains to play in, beautiful field areas to picnic on and you might even catch a free concert.

I guess that would depend on what you claim is fun. Chicago is certainly fun for sports fans as they have a team in every major sport. Whether you are talking about the summer and going to Wrigley Field to watch the Chicago Cubs or you are jonesing for something to do in the fall and you decide to hit Soldier Field to watch the Chicago Bears you are talking about fun. There is also indoor fun in the dead of winter with the Chicago Bulls and the Chicago Blackhawks just recently won the NHL’s Stanley Cup.

Of course there are things to do for people who have no interest in sports like hitting any of the great museums they have or the Navy Pier or to the beach or shopping. I’d say that Chicago is a very fun city.
