Cablevision, founded in 1973 by Charles Dolan, formed in Long Island, and sprawled out to New York, New Jersey, Westchester County, and Connecticut. In 2010, Cablevision acquired Bresnan Communications and for the first time serviced subscribers outside of the New York area.
