Is buying cheap land in the Ukraine a wise investment or a scam?

I have been seeing a lot of buzz on the internet about buying cheap land in the Ukraine. Many sites promise that if you buy this land, you can expect to receive a return of at least 300% in as little as 5 years. Is this some sort of scam? Is this be because of the Chernobyl disaster causing contamination to the land? Would you put money in this real estate investment?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

hey, I am from Ukraine and what I want to say is that never buy anything through the internet in Ukraine because Ukraine is very corrupt country; meaning your money 100% will go to someone's pocket... What you have to do is go to Ukraine and buy it officially from the office which has good standing in real estate market. Also, before buying I would suggest to check if the land is really for sale because sometime people might sell you someone's property without owner's agreement. That's why you should go to Ukraine first. Next, what about chernobyl, I will never buy any land near chernobyl because the toxic radiation is very high there, you do not want to died sooner, do you? the land near chernobyl might be cheap but it is radiation land, the radiation will go away in 100-200 years, but you still can buy it if you want to.

I think it's a scam if it's such a profitable investment why are they sharing it with you and other foreigners. Go there to look at the land and try to record your deed to the property in a Gov office.
