Is buying and/or selling WOW gold legit?

Tip for best answer: M$2.13
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

That depends on your definition of legit.

It's absolutely forbidden in the game's TOS and can get you banned. However, it's not illegal in any jurisdiction, so you can't go to jail or be fined by the government for doing so.

This all isn't to mention that many people have had their computers compromised by buying WoW gold; many of the sellers are just trying to install keyloggers and trojans on your computer in order to do damage.

Personally, my advice would be to stay away from it.

If WoW went f2p (free to play) like LOTRO or DDO the problem of gold selling would be gone and a very lucrative (not for Blizzard supposedly) gold farming/selling industry would come to a grinding halt (pun intended), as would gold spam.

If Blizzard is made aware of a gold selling/buying situation you WILL get kicked if they can verify it, and the gold removed. You can even get permanently banned and have to start a new account with new credentials.

Buying and selling World of Warcraft gold is against the terms of service you agreed to when creating your account, and also increases the risk of your account being banned or compromised.
