Hi Palms,
Band is not necessarily a requirement. Band can typically qualify as a school elective. Schools generally have requirements for number of credits needed to graduate. The number of credits needed varies from school to school. Electives can be a choice of classes in music, cooking, home economics, singing, etc. Some electives can be taken several times and others have different levels. Let us go back to taking band as an example. When you first take the band class, you will probably be in “Beginning Band.” The second time you signup, you would be in “Intermediate Band.” Finally, you can possible take it another time and be in “Advanced Band.” The best thing for you to do at least two years, before you graduate is to check with your school to make sure you are planning for graduation properly.
