Yes, we all should drink cups of tea, herbal tea and tap water boiled. The plastic toxins found in water bottles cause cancer, there are research studies on this subject.

As far as water bottles are concerned when then maintained cold, this is a myth according to Johns Hopkins School of Public health website.

http://www.jhsph.edu/publichealthnews/articles/halden_dioxins2.html

"Question: What do you make of this recent email warning that claims dioxins can be released by freezing water in plastic bottles?

Answer: No. This is an urban legend. There are no dioxins in plastics. In addition, freezing actually works against the release of chemicals. Chemicals do not diffuse as readily in cold temperatures, which would limit chemical release if there were dioxins in plastic, and we don’t think there are.

Question: So it’s okay for people to drink out of plastic water bottles?

Answer: First, people should be more concerned about the quality of the water they are drinking rather than the container it’s coming from. Many people do not feel comfortable drinking tap water, so they buy bottled water instead. The truth is that city water is much more highly regulated and monitored for quality. Bottled water is not. It can legally contain many things we would not tolerate in municipal drinking water."

Of course heating the plastic containers or serving hot drinks in plastic containers might release the chemicals which can be toxic and should be used according to the safety label (microwavable or not, etc.). This includes leaving bottles in the car in hot weather.

Here is another link with some shocking numbers.

Anyway, we should stop buying water and soft drink in plastic bottles and help reduce pollution and save out planet.

There are a lot of people worried about this, which is why there is a growing market for products like Kleen Kanteen, Sigg and Camelbak's Better Bottles, all of which don't contain the "genderbender" substances like BPA.

I went on a long search last summer for the best alternative for my family, weighing the benefits and drawbacks of the three types of bottles above. I ended up going with Camelbak, just because they're undentable/unbreakable and lightweight.
