Ebooks can and do make money on their own. The trick is knowing what to write about and how to market your book so it reaches your target audience. In order to make money, your book needs to solve a problem that your target audience is desperate to have fixed. You can figure out what that problem is by either observiing them on Twitter or, if you are a member of your target audience, find a problem that you once needed to solve and write a book about how you solved it.

Once you've figured out your target audience and the problem you're going to solve for them, write your eBook as inexpensively as you can and price it at a point that would be very affordable for your audience. I recommend spending the money on a Wordpress.org web site dedicated to your book and aggressively cultivating a following of your target audience on Twitter, then pitch your ebook to them. This is the best way to make the most money from your eBook.

If you are going to search around the web, you will find out that there are a lot of sites saying you can make money selling eBooks. I was attracted to this idea before but after I have found out that there are so many eBooks available for free download I felt I would better be doing something else so I could earn cash and not waste my time. However, there are sites that say you can make real money by selling eBooks. Well since you have a good idea for an eBook, you try it.
