Alton Brown is definitely a foodie and watching him on TV one can learn more about good and fine foods. With regards to what kind of food is proper to serve at a semi-formal wedding it will depend of what is considered to be semi-formal and acceptable to those in the table. In the topic of Alton Brown he left the film business and moved to Vermont to train at the New England Culinary Institute located in Montpelier. Soon after he reportedly tapped all of his training to create the basis for the show Good Eats, a food program that blends a good deal of wit with old fashion wisdom, food history with pop culture and kitchen science with cooking taste and common sense.
