Alchemy is a scientific process by which two metals are fused into one to make an alloy. This is usually accomplished by heating both metals until they melt, then mixing them together until the mixture is homogenous. Brass is a metal made by alchemy. Brass is made from copper and zinc being melted and mixed together.

I’m not sure of the answer to your last question as magic isn’t a real thing. My opinion would be that since alchemy is a real thing, it would be stronger.

M$Now to look at the bigger picture, past the reality of being able to put one's hands on something, and therefore it exists.
There are religions that believe in magic, therefore it is a real thing. It is not alchemy, even if it is real. After all, alchemy does not take any hocus pocus, or spells to make reality out of the mixture of metals to create new ones. However, even Christianity believes in magic, they just call it miracles instead of magic. It's still all the same thing. Magic comes from faith and belief in the possibility of something that has not practical explanation. One cannot use magic to make brass out of copper and zinc! :-D
Those who practice less standard religions, like Wicca, or Druidism, believe in more ethereal magic, and these people would adamantly disagree that magic(k) is not real, and they have the right to their beliefs much like anyone else who has a religious faith or belief. Who is to say that magic(k) is not real in this case?
I, however, agree totally with the previous answer. Alchemy is a science, and magic is a faith based belief, or sleight of hand, and are not related in any way.
