Adobe Elements is definitely the place to start if you are interested in image editing. Want to get rid of that red eye effect? No problem. Want to get rid of that picture of your annoying lodged behind you and your BFF/ no problem, want to retouch an old photo and get rid of that nasty crease down the middle? These are all things you can do in Photoshop Elements. Elements, also has the advantage of having Guided Edit and Quick Edit, Handy little workspaces for the absolute beginner. Elements also has an amazing price advantage over the CS5 version of Photoshop, it is much, much cheaper. For the advanced user Photoshop is definitely the best image editing software on the market. Its professional filters, layers, Bezier and masking tools are the best in the business. So if it is professional and highly complex image adjustment you are after buy Photoshop it is upgradeable and once you get on the Photoshop bandwagon you will never want to get off.
