It's difficult to tell with hybrid dogs because, well, they're hybrids. The best you can do is look at the temperament for a mastiff and the temperament for a lab and decide if you could live with either. Both are pretty good around kids, but you also have to take into account that this is likely to be a REALLY big dog with the mastiff's size and the lab's hyperness, at least for the first few years. Take care to socialize the dog well when it's very young (before 14 weeks, preferably) so that it will know how to deal with kids.
