Is a 780 p plasma better or worse than a 1080 p LCD TV?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

It depends what you mean by "better" for you.
But a 1080p TV has a significantly higher potential resolution than 780p, whatever the type of TV. Only "potential" because it depends what quality the picture coming to the TV has in the first place, e.g. whether its from a Blu-ray player or a VHS recorder.
Also plasma TVs generally consume far more energy than an LCD one. Big plasma screens are real energy hogs!
So unless you really love the plasma picture for some reason, I'd personally go with the 1080p LCD.
