Is $200 too much to pay for this crazy hair style for a teenager?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I am 39 years old and I would pay $1000.00 to any hairstylist who would be willing and able to give me that hairstyle so while $200.00 from a teenager might not meet either the teens social or economic sensibilities and nearly 40 year old man like me would be a perfect fit for that style all around.

Don't get the giraffe one, man! Get the shitzu in headlights. You already have the salt and pepper hair for a more complex design.

If you think getting laughed at is worth 200 bucks, sure. I just wonder if the hair eats tree foliage as well.

200 bucks is too expensive to pay for ANY type of hairstyle, child, teenager, adult or whatever. The only way I'd pay 200 dollars for any hairstyle, is if 1. I was rich and 2. I had to get some sort of weave or something because I was suffering from balding or extreme hair thinness.

Okay, with this hairstyle... You could pay me 200 bucks to wear it, because that is what it would take. It looks like a dead animal is on top of her head! This would scare me as it is very unnatural and evil looking to me. This includes the ones below. The lion is kind of cool, but only as a costume for some sort of witch or something.

These are actually hats and are said to be hot for proms. I somehow think these prom pictures will be like ours from the 1980s. These girls will be like "what were we thinking?".

Nagi Noda's animal inspired hair hats was said to be seen in Björk's tour... haha I should have guessed!

If I were the hair dresser I would say, I would probably charge at least that. It sounds like a lot of money, but take a good look at the work that is put into it.

OMG I love that picture! Is it for real or photo shopped? As far as your question the answer depends on a couple of factors: the teen ager involved and your budget.

If two hundred dollars is a stretch, then the answer is no. Put it to you this way, take "crazy" out of the equation. If your family doesn't have this kind of money to spend on hair, explain to your child the economic reality. May be they'll get a job and pay for the hairstyle themselves.

Second factor the teenager in question. If this is a person going into show business, why not indulge them? On the other hand, if this is a vain and silly person, may be you don't want to feed the beast. Do they believe the hairstyle "defines" them? If yes, it's a bad idea to confirm the belief system. Conversely, if they see the hairstyle as simply silly fun, it probably is.

To me, that doesn't even look real because the hair color is different then that by her forehead.

However if this were a hair style, why in the world would someone want it? They would get teased, ridiculed and poked fun at it. There are big hairstyles and then there are those just make everyone wonder what was that person thinking!? This is one of those.

I could see it working for a model, a photo shoot or a runway but nowhere else.
