Ironman vs Batman. Who is cooler?
This is who is cooler based on the movies and comics.

Truthfully it comes down to either being around a brilliant narcicist or a split personality (both have a lot of cash, so you're good to go there). Additionally, both guys have a ridiculous amount of sick gadgets and toys to play with, so taht can't be factored in.
This is a hard question as I had to think a long time on how to answer as really, both are extremely cool. Still, in the end, Tony Stark and Iron Man wins in the end simply on personality. Also, it's important to point out that Batman (Bruce Wayne) has a serious dark side that may make it difficult to be around for very long at a party.
So my winner is IRON MAN!!

M$Really Iron Man comics have never done much for me and I certainly hated the movies. Batman movies are SO much better, but maybe its just because there are ten times as many. "Batman" by Tim Burton is still my favorite super hero movie ever. Michael Keaton, GREAT. Jack Nicholson as The Joker, EVEN BETTER.
Besides the better movies, the Frank Miller era of Batman has got to be my favorite comics from any mega popular superhero, the Dark Knight series was great (not the movie). In fact I pick batman over Superman and Spiderman too, and for that matter really any other superhero......
well besides Conan the Barbarian.

M$Possibly the only person I would have top Conan is Thor, I am at the same time looking forward to and at the same time dreading the movie. It can't possibly live up to what I would want it to be, so I just hope it doesn't suck.
oh man, I haven't heard of this Thor movie. I'll cross my fingers.
Conan's movies were a little embarrassing to say the least, lets hope Thor doesn't get done like Conan did.
"To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women." Tough to argue Conan from the brutal cool standpoint.
I'm glad your a fan of the Conan. In my humble opinion he is the most influential super hero ever. He is a savage who's only weakness is the opposite sex, what life lessons CANT be taught from these stories?!
Next question:
Conan the Barbarian vs. anybody else. Who's cooler?
also whats your answer to this question @cheapgamer? I would like to hear it.
Why?
Because, first off... his costume is easier to make. And anyboby, I mean ANYBODY can be Batman for Halloween.

Second... Batman has an air of mystery and slight melancholy within a gothic setting. He's been through quite a bit. Many can relate to his losses and regrets.

Through all the years, actors and costume phases... Batman has kept his cool. I won't even get into the gadgets that both of them have, since again Batman wins on grounds of coolness.
When both of these super heros are well into retirement age, I'm afraid that Ironman will be squeaking along and in dire need of some WD-40, while Batman will going strong!

M$" . . . And anyboby, I mean ANYBODY can be Batman for Halloween. "*
* Exempt noodle skinny, too small costume batman. ^_~
The bat wheelchair however RULES!
I think that first guy really needs a different costume. This is the first time I have ever seen a man with camel-toe. Perhaps he would be much more suited for a Mucha Lucha costume.
I guess I stressed the 'ANYBODY' thing a little so hard @cheapgamer... sorry.
(kelraye! I'm ashamed of you! I didn't notice that camel-toe until you pointed it out! ;) - I just noticed the 'small' ears!)
I like everything you said, but be careful that first picture nearly nulifies the "batman is cooler" argument. ;o)

While I have a lot of great memories growing up with the old Batman comics, the movies, and the animated TV series, I have to say that Ironman is way cooler. He's got the technical know-how to build anything dangerous out of scrap metal (Batman has awesome gadgets, but I don't think he built most of them), he doesn't have the depressing history of Batman, and he's got a much better sense of humor and better social skills. Plus, Ironman probably has way more money, fame and business expertise than Batman, and that's a ton of extra "cool points."
Also, Robert Downey Jr.

M$Mmmmmmmm...........................Robert Downey Jr. I hope rehab works for him this time. He is super yummy no matter how old he gets.
He's actually one of those rare specimens where, the older they get, the more attractive they get. Young Robert really wasn't so attractive.
On a related tanget, young Alan Rickman really wasn't attractive, either.

If we were to talk about the Superfirends version of Batman - I would give the coolness factor to Iron Man since Batman here was just a background chracter.
If we were to talk about the Dark Knight version from the comics, Batman would knock just about anyone out of the water, including Iron Man.
If we were to talk about the revenge-driven Batman - Iron Man does not have a chance.
If it were to be discussed about the version of Batman from the movies - Iron Man would win against most, except for the redo.
If it were to come down to Adam West as Batman - Iron Man would melt from his aura!

M$That's a very kind clarification, thanks ^_^
LOL the person asking the question, me, has the same Goatee. I had it before he did.
Without it I look like a very big ten year old
Haha! I should clarify. Goatees represent some kind of intelligence.
Two fields where I notice a lot of goatees are mechanical and engineering, where mastery of a craft is essential.
A lot of college students have them too... young minds growing and all that.
And then, some people grow them to hide weak chins, or just because they can.
But cool guys? Really cool guys are clean-shaven, or scruffy, or Sean Connery. Really cool guys don't need to wake up in the morning and shave half their faces. They're too busy being active and bitchin' and cool.
If it's any consolation, I am not cool. That profile picture of me? That's pretty much it.

M$Batman may have a killer car, but Bruce Wayne is aging, and his "coolness" seems to be diminishing. If he would get out of the bat cave a little more often and do some socializing, he may be able to find his light again, and things could be restored, but for now, my money is on Iron Man and all of his wonderful gadgets. I don't really care that he is completely full of himself and slightly egotistical. If I had all of those tools at my dispense, I would be too. I still think he would make for great company.

M$Also, I thought Batman "switched teams," not that it would matter....unless you were planning on taking one of them to bed. In either case, I think that might be dangerous.
what batman is gay? i have never heard of such a thing. Although it would make sense, fear of commitment to women, live in butler....
Terrific fashion sense? And he drives a black Miata........Oh wait, that's not a Miata.

M$I have always thought of him as more of a machine than a man. I guess its a good twist but its a twist away from what I like in a super hero.

M$I also think his nemesis is one of the all time greats, The Joker. How cool is he? And Harley Quinn of animated fame? Add to them Scarecrow, Clock King, Mad Hatter, Riddler, Penguin, Catwoman, and the rest and you have some amazing characters.
I also have to give Batman props for his justice over killing stance on crime=fighting. He weighs moral issues and is kept in check by friends and most of all Alfred.

M$There are so many similarities like their both tormented by their lack of a relationship with their father, their silly costumes, and their cool cars.
So it all just boils down to the cool factor. Even though the batman character has suffered through waves of various actors portraying him they all got the cool Barry White-ish voice thing going once they put the mask on. VERY Cool. Batman has a side kick (Robin) which demonstrates his compassionate caring side - and chicks dig a guy who can express his emotions and still kick butt in a fight of Good vs. Evil.
Batman wins on Cool points.

Oh man, they had this awesome show on the History channel where they had real psychologists, psychoanalysts and therapists (from reputable schools and practices like UCLA etc) dissect both Batman, Bruce Wayne and all of the villians in the batman world - it was AMAZINGLY interesting - and they also agreed with you completely.
They said that Bruce Wayne was a classic split personality syndrome who's personalities split due to the horrible mental trauma he suffered watching his folks get murderd in front of him. Their main interest was who is REALLY in control of the mind? Wayne went to great lengths to hide his alternate self, but at the same time went to great lengths to enable the alternate self, which makes you wonder if it's Batman who's really in control... it was really facinating. It's called Batman Revealed - maybe they'll show it again or they have it archived our something - anyway, you'd be way into it.
They both do one-liners, Batman is just more deadpan. ^_^

Excellent post. I like such themes and anything connected to this matter. I definitely want to read more on that blog soon. Thanks for sharing with us ...

irishstephen1974 has a point!
Poison Ivy Point that is... :)))
OH NO!! That totally threw everything off:
I'd rather be Batman's sidekick because, let's face it, dark and mysterious is pretty cool. However, Iron man travels to other planets... DRAW.
If I'm at my buddy's house, I'd pick up a Batman comic every time. Advantage: Batman!
And as far as the movies go... again a draw - you can't beat the genius of Heath Ledgers' Joker, but then again, Gwenneth Paltrow is quite delish... DRAW!!
Back to the drawing board...
Stupid Iron Man and Batman being so awesome...
I was going to include a pic of both Catwoman and another of Black widow, but they were a little...busty and somewhat inappropriate for our forum!
And, btw - I love Poison Ivy!!
Take it as you wish you could do a combination of factors.
Ex.
Who would you rather hang out with? (Nicely covered here)
Who's sidekick would you rather be?
You are at a friend's house and a batman comic and an Ironman comic are staring at you, which do you pick up?
Which movies did you enjoy more?
