I jailbroke my 2G a couple of days ago with redsn0w. I erased everything on the iPod when I upgraded to the 3.0 firmware, then ran redsn0w from my Windows Vista machine. On the first attempt the iPod failed to reboot in the middle of the process, so I started over and it completed. Now both normal and jailbroken apps seem to work fine.
When using redsn0w with the 3.0 firmware version, the recommendations I saw said to install cydia only and not icy because icy is buggy for firmware version 3.0. I have seen other information that condradicts this, but I chose cydia only and it worked well for me.

Has anyone jailbroken their iPod Touch 2G yet having the OS 3.0 installed using redsn0w or ultrasn0w?
I'd like to know more details on how to do it myself. The last time I tried (a few months ago), neither Pwnage or QwickPWN would recognize my iPod.

I only had the option of choosing cydia. My boyfriend jailbroke his 3G with the 3.0 firmware and has both cydia and icy. They work fine.
