It will be just like the other iPhone software updates. You will sync it to the computer, and iTunes will ask if you want to download and install new iPhone software.
Unfortunately, some of the features will not be available on the first generation iPhone (such as stereo bluetooth).
There are rumors of a new phone in the works, but, as is normal with Apple, nothing is confirmed. The new software ship date is scheduled to be in June.

- Search your iPhone
- Cut, copy, and paste
- Send photos, contacts, audio files, and location via MMS (only on iPhone 3G)
- Read and compose email and text messages in landscape
