How come my iPhone doesn't always appear in iTunes? (I have to unplug and re-plug it in++ to get it to appear)

I'm using Windows 7 Beta and iTunes 8.1

I've had the same problems with my ipod for years now, but looks like you found the easiest workaround, if you want to get to the bottom of it, here is the Apple Support page you seek
