A much louder speakerphone would be really appreciated. The iphone should also be smart enough to not ask me which phone number I want to send a text message to when I have a mobile and home number entered for someone. I want the mobile number duh.
Better battery life is always a plus, but I understand that as a smartphone it will never be as good as a non smart phone.
There are plenty of other things that should also be more customizable. Timers to turn on and off wifi/3g, the ability to have different email accounts checked at different intervals so that my junk mail account isn't checked as often as my more important accounts, and things like that.

Realisticly? Besides for the copy and paste, I'd like to see a drag and drop. Maybe even some more built-in apps like one for editing photos since the iPhone does have a camera (I don't think it would be illogical).

Other than that, I'd really love to see the camera on the front of the screen. Video chatting on the phone would be amazing!

The iPhone UI was good a couple of years ago but now it needs to change.
I would also love to see background processes management like in the Pre. Even though it sucks battery life, running the mail app and the notes app at the same time doesn't really suck the battery life because the mail.app runs in the background anyway. Well, why not just exit the app? It gets inconvenient. Especially when you are constantly going back and forth.

Besides basics that are coming in 3.0, what do you want your iPhone to do that it doesn't do already?
More, what kind of app do you want that doesn't exist?
Keeping in mind iPhone software 3.0 will include: MMS, video, cut&paste, turn-by-turn GPS, spotlight search, landscape keyboard in mail &SMS, stereo bluetooth, etc.

Unrealisticly? I want it to dump water on my boyfriend's face when its set alarm goes off in the morning so he actually wakes up. Realisticly? Besides for the copy and paste, I'd like to see a drag and drop. I've considered the idea of tactile feedback. I've played with some of the other phones that have it, and it's pretty cool. My one hesitation is that I could see it getting pretty annoying -- I'm not sure I want the phone to vibrate every time I touch it. Maybe an option to turn it on? Other than that, I'd really love to see the camera on the front of the screen. Video chatting on the phone would be amazing!

I love the new Pre UI. I absolutely fell in love with it. The iPhone UI was good a couple of years ago but now it needs to change.
