Can anyone recommend a hosted virtual desktop service?
I would like to completely move my work onto internet based services, so I can work from anywhere, on my home computer or a laptop. However,\ I depend of a few Windows applications to get the job done.
Does anyone have experience using a hosted desktop service? I am looking for a Windows desktop that I can connect to with remote desktop.
I would love to hear from someone who has used one of these services and if you would recommend it.

How often does it go down? Isn't it a big show stopper for this requirement?

If it is for personal use, I would set up my own virtual system to access from anywhere instead of paying someone else and also for the privacy and security of my data.
If it is for an enterprise application then it would make sense.

stanar Thanks for the reply and not immediately shutting down my response, the site has been touch and go lately, they are still in beta.
I wouldn't recommend this (or any other internet cloud based desktop service FTM) for enterprise applications/data.
You might want to look into getting some VPS hosting and running Xserver remotely over SSH and keeping your SSH key on a miniature flash drive.
It's a messy setup but that would be the most secure way.
I can help you touch base one that if its something you feel up to.

Thanks for the suggestions, but it looks like Jooce.com is permanently dead.
Also thanks for the offer xds.. I do have something like this setup right now, but my issue is that I don't want to run my own server. I'd rather just pay a few bucks a month (if it breaks while I'm out of town I don't have an IT dept. to fix it)

I hope you find a solution that fits your needs.
Maybe a solution will present itself in the very near future.
That assumption wouldn't be to far off.

If it's just because you want to be able to work on your stuff from anywhere, why not do what I do... set up your own server with all stuff you like, firewall it your own way, and then travel with a laptop loaded with just enough to run as a thin client and/or do a full mirroring in the background depending on the bandwidth, and then if your next stop has a lousy connection, or none at all, you can keep working, and then mirror the changes next time you've got a link.
