Email Opt-In Affiliate Programs

I have a consumer-facing website with lots of users and want to find ways to monetize other than ads or having them buy/subscribe. I'm looking for companies/newsletters/websites/etc... who would pay me for getting my users to opt-in to their services/websites/etc... it should cost my users nothing, other than signing up to receive something via email. Any ideas?

There are two ways that I can think of right now where you can take advantage of the users base you already have. What is interesting is that both these monetizing methods will allow you to make money out of it, provide benefit to your users and and at the same time cost nothing. Yes, you get paid by offering "stuff" to your users, and I do not mean useless ebooks or crap like that. Here they are:

NeverBlue ads: This network has plenty of companies that offer software, games, etc. All you need is to get your users to sign for it or download it. When they do you get paid. This is a PPL (Par Per Lead) progam and it is great. One populular software for example is Digsby, an all in one email manager, social integration and more. Read more about it here: http://www.iblogzone.com/2009/08/make-money-with-neverblue-affiliate.html

RevResponse: This is a network of publishers. You offer ezines, whitepapers, magazines, for free. Your users can choose from a variety of publication, such as Technical, SEO, Google related stuff, Engineering, etc. Your users sign up for it and you get paid. Again, the users do not pay anything. It is also a PPL program. More about it here: http://www.iblogzone.com/2009/05/make-money-offering-free-publications.html

Try those two. I hope this is what you are looking for.

It really depends on what kind of website you have and what your customers are looking for. There are a bunch of affiliate programs out there that will pay you for quality traffic. If it's traffic we're talking about Free Traffic System has an affiliate program you can sign up for that will build SEO back links for you and your customers.

I've even got an affiliate program "Shameless Plug" that will get you 10% commission on sales through my online web store.

This is not quite the answer you are looking for, but one of the hottest trends in monetizing your content right now is to create profit directly from your user base. Instead of looking for ways to increase affiliate earnings and adsense revenue, many very successful sites are making money by providing excellent content to their existing user base.

What this basically means is that the users have a good reason to return often, and feel connected with the website. The best way to achieve this is to add as much user generated content as you can. Depending on your niche this could be user submitted designs, reviews, discussion board, etc, etc. You don;t have to look far for examples of websites who use this method. Mahalo is a typical example.

The big benefit of building a close relationship between your site and the users is that you can earn a lot of money without having to bring in new search engine traffic constantly. If you build a strong community spirit around your website, your user base will be more willing to spend money at your site. Consider adding revenue sharing on user uploaded products or designs or whatever your site might be a fit for.

The key to establishing this relationship is to strive to provide the very best online experience for your niche market. If you can do this, you open up virtually endless opportunities to generate income.

It sounds like you are talking about CPA offers-- cost per action. (Includes clicks, form filling, purchase... whichever action the advertiser is trying to achieve... pay per lead, pay per click, etc)

There are a variety of companies that offer this. Some of the best require an interview with you in order to approve your application, such as Hydra Network and NeverBlue Ads.

However, it is easy to sign up for Commission Junction with no interview necessary, and they also provide CPA lead companies. Just tailor the offerings they have to your customer base.

I also recommend CPA Warehouse. They have a lot of great offers.

Many of these companies even allow incentivized offers, meaning you can offer your customers something for signing up or filling out their form. There are insurance quotes, free screensavers, home siding quotes, credit card offers, free credit reports... you name it, you can find it through at least one of these companies.

I don't know what vertical your website targets, but I'm fairly certain you can find at least one offer that would fit your customer base. And many of them just require your customer to request more information for free.

Another option is to partner with others in your field that complement your product/service but don't compete with it.

An example would be:

You sell bird cages; find someone who offers bird feed and strike a deal with him to cross promote to each others' lists. You can offer a special discount to his list and he can offer one to yours. You earn through the additional sales.

Additionally, you can offer each other a commission on the sales made through each others' lists.

I am a member of all of those. I recommend each one of them.
