Who owns the copryright of a university's logo? I'm particularly interested in the logo of the Universidad de Buenos Aires and its Schools.

The copyright for their logo appears to have expired sometime ago and it is now public domain. You may want to verify this with the university using the contact form here

The schools themselves usually own the copyright to their logo, and can often be quite touchy about using it. I know for certain that USC's logo and "Tommy Trojan" cannot be used, even within the school itself, without a long process going through the school's lawyers and signing copyright agreements. I strongly suggest that you contact the school itself, either their public relations department or their main office, before you consider using their logo, as they will certainly have lawyers on hand to deal with copyright infringement cases.
