Would the band Animal Collective be as popular as they are today without the hype from bloggers?

They seems to be finally breaking into the mainstream with their latest album "Merriweather Post Pavilion".

I don't believe bloggers are solely responsible for the popularity of Animal Collective as their music is well done and I can see how it would fit well into the "mainstream". A big help with that (when looking at the success of Merriweather Post Pavillion) is the fact that they are signed with Domino Records, which has a good track record when it comes to indie rock such as Animal Collective... they have helped other artist make the mainstream, such as:

~Arctic Monkey
~Franz Ferdinand
~The Pastels
~Clinic
~Pram
